WomenCount Radio Interviews Linda Colfax

Posted on March 24th, 2010

WomenCount is a non-profit political organization that gives women of all generations and backgrounds from around the United States a powerful voice in the political process. We want to bring to light women candidates from across the country and help inspire more women to run for office and bring the number of women holding political office at every level to an all-time high. Our other mission is to help enact a Presidential Commission on Women. We currently have legislation in the House thanks to Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Ca). We are looking for all women to join the cause and help ensure that this legislation passes and the Commission becomes a reality, creating a new foundation for the next generation of women.

Linda Colfax Officially Files For Seat #6

Posted on February 11th, 2010

Superior Court candidate Linda Colfax has officially filed her papers today for Seat #6! Here is a message from Linda:

To all the signature gatherers–too many to name, but you know who you are–many, many thanks. I’m going to continue to need your help from here until June 8, 2010. Most importantly, I need help spreading the word and fundraising (to help spread the word). What …can you do? Suggest me to all of your FB friends to help this campaign and its message spread quickly. Visit my website and make a donation. No donation is too small or too large. What if every fan gave $20 or $50. You can see that if we have 100% participation, we can win. Each of us might play a small part, but together we can carry strength.
I want to share something I heard from the Honorable Thelton Henderson tonight which illustrates why I am running for judge: “I am outraged by injustice and it energizes me. I’ve been a victim of injustice and so I have felt it personally. I believe that it is my mortal duty to confront and correct injustice.”
Join me in this journey and continued struggle to confront and correct injustice.

If you aren’t already a fan, visit the Linda Colfax for Superior Court Judge Facebook page and become one today!

Over the years, we have seen how judges both influence our political process and effect our social norms. For all of you women who care how our society is affected by judges, please consider joining us for an evening of networking and learning about our judicial selection process in San Francisco. The judges on the bench matter to all of us, our friends and neighbors and to our children.

Linda is a whip-smart progressive lesbian who possesses incredible judgment. She’ll make a great judge. Linda has devoted her life to public service. She has worked as a San Francisco public defender for over 12 years. She also has had leadership roles on the following boards: ACLU, Municipal Attorney Association, Woman Defenders and Golden Gate Women’s Soccer League. She is mother of Hannah Colfax-Lamoureux, who attends Brandeis Hillel Day School, and Elias Colfax-Lamoureux, who attends Eureka Learning Center, and wife of Kristin Lamoureux.

Please feel free to bring other women or pass along the invitation.
We’ll be pouring delicious wines and serving heavy appetizers.
