Statement of Why
I am experienced, trusted and principled. I have become a successful and widely respected litigator by working hard and mastering the principles that guide our legal system: due process, vigorous advocacy, and the rule of law.
My academic credentials, Harvard College and Michigan Law School, demonstrate my intellectual rigor. My twelve years at the Public Defender’s office show my commitment to public service and to those without financial means. My Northern California ACLU Board membership and leadership positions in that important organization have taught me the value of spirited debate and tenacity about protecting rights.
And my community involvement—with the Brandeis Hillel Day School, the Municipal Attorney’s Association, and Golden Gate Women’s Soccer League—have allowed me to collaborate with San Franciscans from diverse fields and backgrounds.
I have appeared before dozens of judges in thousands of cases.
